ConnectMed accounts have two security levels - Level 1 and Level 2
It is important to understand the differences to make the most of your ConnectMed account and how you would like it to work for you.
Level 1 Security
Level 1 security is the level you will be if you have signed up from home using our join page and you have activated your account with a code sent to your cell phone
Level 1 security gives you access to book appointments with your practice and depending on which practice you are with, may also allow you to request a manual prescription online.
Level 1 security also allows you to change any of your personal details, such as your name, date of birth, cell phone and email address online at any time, it is important to remember when doing this to make sure those details also match what is listed at your practice, you will not be able to change some of these details yourself once raised to level 2
Level 1 security does not allow you to access any information that pertains to your personal health record as you have not verified yourself in person with your practice
If your account is level 1 but you want to access information that relates to your personal health record and any features that your clinic has turned on you would need to be given Level 2 access.
To be given level 2 access your practice first needs to confirm your identity and then raise your account for you on their system, this process is in place to ensure the security of your personal information.
If you are currently a level 1 and would like to access level 2, please contact your practice for more information and ask them what they need you to do to have your account raised to level 2.
Level 2 Security
Level 2 security is the level you will have if you were signed up by your practice and they sent you a link to activate your account from home or, if your practice has raised the level of your account from level 1 to level 2 for you.
Level 2 security gives you access to appointments and your personal health record information, such as lab results, long term medications, repeat prescriptions, immunisations, recalls, conditions, allergies and patient notes. It is important to understand that even if you are a level 2 your medical practice may not have all of these functions available to you as each medical practice is different in what functions they have turned on.
Level 2 security does not allow you to update your name, date of birth or gender, but you can still update your email address and your cell phone number. Remember all of these details must match the practice so if you update anything at either place you need to ensure both ConnectMed and your practice are aware or your account will not function correctly. It is only your email address that is not required to match.
Still need help?
If you are still needing help, you can submit a request with your account email address, date of birth, cell phone number and name of your medical practice and the ConnectMed support team can investigate this for you.
